January, 1777. Washington’s crossing of the Delaware has turned the tide for the Patriots, and sent the British into retreat. Yet the war is far from over. In fact, for a tiny hamlet in New Jersey called Spanktown, the battle is just beginning. There, two animals, named Mole and Badger, respectively, wrestle over the soul of a great nation.
A hallucinatory historical pageant in the tradition of Wind and the Willows, Aesop, and Alice and Wonderland, The Battle of Spanktown blurs the lines between history and fantasy, offering an outrageous fairytale for post-Obama, Tea Partying America.
